For years, I kept asking myself:

“What is wrong with me?”

Why do I get overwhelmed so easily?

Why do I notice things other people don’t seem to notice?

Why can a comment, a conversation or even the atmosphere in a room affect me so deeply?

Why do I sometimes need to withdraw from people and have some quiet time just to feel like myself again?

And why could I handle so much sometimes… and then suddenly feel completely overwhelmed?

For a long time, I thought I was simply too sensitive.

Too emotional.

Too easily affected.

I thought I needed to become stronger.

To toughen up.

To stop taking things so personally.

Until I discovered something that changed the way I understood myself:

I might be a Highly Sensitive Person.

Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) are estimated to make up around 15–30% of the population.

Being highly sensitive isn’t a disorder or something that needs to be fixed.

It’s a trait associated with a more sensitive nervous system and deeper processing of information.

HSPs tend to notice subtle details, process experiences deeply and often pick up on things that others might not even consciously register.

And yes, this can come with beautiful strengths.

Highly sensitive people can be:

deeply empathetic
intuitive
creative
thoughtful
observant
deeply connected to others and their environment

But there can also be a less comfortable side.

Because when you notice more and process more deeply, you can also become overwhelmed more easily.

Too much noise.

Too many people.

Too many decisions.

Too much stimulation.

Too many emotions.

Too much happening at once.

And suddenly you don’t need another productivity hack.

You need silence.

Space.

A walk.

Time alone.

A chance to breathe and come back to yourself.

And this is where my own story comes in.

For years, I thought there was something wrong with me.

I wondered why things seemed to affect me more than they affected other people.

Why I needed so much time to process certain experiences.

Why I could be incredibly productive and energetic one day, and then feel completely drained the next.

Why I often sensed things before I could even explain them logically.

Understanding that I am highly sensitive gave me a completely different perspective.

I didn’t need to fix myself.

I needed to understand myself.

I needed to learn what my body was telling me.

I needed to recognise when I was reaching my limit instead of waiting until I was completely overwhelmed.

And I needed to stop treating sensitivity as a weakness.

Because perhaps the thing you have been trying to get rid of is actually one of your greatest strengths.

Maybe you don’t need to become less sensitive.

Maybe you need to learn how to live with your sensitivity in a way that supports you.

So, I have a little question for you today:

Do you often…

notice subtle changes in people’s moods?

need time alone after a busy or social day?

feel overwhelmed by noise, crowds or too much stimulation?

process experiences and conversations very deeply?

have a strong emotional response to beauty, music, nature or art?

notice details that other people seem to miss?

become overwhelmed when you have too much happening at once?

If several of these sound familiar, you might want to explore the concept of high sensitivity a little further.

Not because you need another label.

But because understanding yourself can change the way you treat yourself.

And maybe the question doesn’t have to be:

“What’s wrong with me?”

Maybe it can become:

“What do I need in order to feel good as the person I am?”

With love,

Tina

Have you ever woken up from a vivid dream and wondered what it meant? Dreams aren’t just random images or stories your mind cooks up while you sleep – they’re powerful messages from your subconscious, trying to communicate important truths, emotions, and insights.

Our subconscious mind holds vast knowledge about our fears, desires, and unresolved conflicts. Since it operates beneath our conscious awareness, dreams become a bridge – symbolic language through which this hidden part of us speaks.

But how can we decode these mysterious messages?

The key lies in learning to listen and interpret.

Certain methods, like dream journaling, meditation, and guided visualization, help us access this inner wisdom. By writing down your dreams regularly, you train your mind to recognize recurring themes and symbols. Meditation and visualization deepen your connection to your subconscious, allowing you to explore the emotions and stories behind your dreams with greater clarity.

In Hawaii, shamans have long known the power of dreams – not only in interpreting their own dreams but also in connecting to and understanding the dreams of others. This sacred practice allowed them to offer guidance, healing, and profound insight by tapping into the dream world as a shared space of wisdom.

When you learn to tap into the subconscious through your dreams, you gain valuable guidance for your waking life – helping you make decisions, resolve inner conflicts, and live more authentically.

Next time you wake up from a dream, don’t brush it aside. Instead, invite your subconscious to share its wisdom – and you might be surprised at what you discover.

Book a call if you’d love to explore your dreams
